Mee Toh School is a Buddhist school located at 51 Edgedale Plains Singapore 828866. It is founded by the Venerable Kong Hiap. In 1952 when the Abbot of Leong San Temple, Venerable Zhuan Feng passed away, Venerable Kong Hiap was appointed the new Abbot and he built the Mee Toh School instead of the proposed Mee Toh Temple.
In 1956, he and his team appealed to the Government of Singapore to grant a Public Holiday for the Buddhists. His persistent efforts paid off when the Government finally gazetted the full moon day of the fourth month in the Chinese calendar, as a Public Holiday in celebration of Vesak Day by the Buddhists. He passed away on 24 February 1994 at a ripe age of 94. The school conducts Dharma talks, classes and camps.
